Jayla's Community Outreach was formed in 2003 in response to an increasing number of struggling single unemployed mothers and fatherless children approaching homelessness throughout Southeast Michigan. JCO was re-established in 2013 to focus Wayne County Michigan. Our program provides transitional and emergency shelter, intensive one-on-one counseling, educational and job development skills, life skills, referrals and follow-up services. We believe the board of directors and staff members of our program have the knowledge, talent and determination needed to positively affect our community one family at a time.
In 2017, a decision was made to begin extending JCO services to Arizona, with a focus on Maricopa County. In 2018 JCO began servicing low income women and children in the metro Phoenix and surrounding areas. JCO now serves low income families, low income veterans and foster children residing in Maricopa County Arizona and Wayne County Michigan.
